Product description
The multipurpose I/O module is designed for both stand-alone and networked applications. The module includes a wide variety of different types of I/O. Module structure enables connector options and additional interface on customers request. The module software is written in C, and the application can be written by either Axiomatic Technologies Oy or by customer. The standard application is a CANopen slave module application conforming to CiA draft standard DS-401 (device profile for I/O modules).
The basic configuration of the module includes 4 configurable inputs. Each input could be configured digital PNP, digital NPN, analog 0...10V or analog 4...20 mA. Inputs are fault protected and voltage could be up to 35 V. Treshold voltage and hysteresis of digital inputs are configurable.
The outputs can supply 2A digital or analog (PWM) each channel over supply voltage range (9...35V). Total current for outputs is limited to 5A. Each output channel includes current measurement (12 bit resolution). Under PWM operation they are suited for driving proportional valves in range of 0...2000mA. The PWM frequency can be up to 20 kHz. Dither frequency and amplitude are configurable. Output polarity, ramps, dead band and current feedback controller parameters can all be configured by software.
The I/O module is designed for harsh environments. The module is mounted in an IP65-protected case, and IP67 rating is also available on request The module can also be supplied with customer-specific connectors and case. Power supply for the module can be in the range 9 - 35V. The module is protected against reverse battery connection, overvoltage, and load-dump situations. The power supply is tested against the very strict ISO/DTR 7637 class 4 standard.
The module can be customized on request.
Two quadratude 2 channel encoder interfaces with index and home (35V tolerant TTL) 2 timerinputs (35V tolerant TTL) 8-bit databus with 8 chip selects (3,3V, 5V tolerant) SPI bus with 2 chip selects (5V) 2 interrupt inputs (3,3V, 5V tolerant)
I/O can be controlled either using RS-232 or CAN buses. The module is available with CANopen protocol. The CAN bus node id is changed through the RS-232 interface using normal terminal software.
Applications
Typical applications include for example: mobile applications, vehicles, work machines cranes, elevators robotics, material handling machines
